Our founder, Dr. David Castañeda Díaz, was first introduced to the world of international trade in 1991 when he represented small businesses from the Rio Grande Valley (Texas) in a series of conferences convened in Washington, D.C. to discuss the advantages and dis-advantages of signing a trilateral free trade agreement with Canada and México.
NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) was signed by the leaders of México, Canada and the United States in December 1992 and went into effect on January 1, 1994. It was there when our founder has direct contact with buyers and sellers from different countries, particularly North America, Latin America and Asia. He conducted numerous trade mission, participated in tradeshows, opened new markets for American exporters and facilitated seminars and workshops to promote free trade and educate buyers and sellers on how to maximize profit potential.
20 years later, in 2002, he founded PARAGON Business Consultants and expanded his consulting practice to include non-profit organizations and the use of financial principles, tools and techniques to advance entrepreneurship in under-developed economies
As the world trade evolved and became more complex and highly competitive, new challenges appeared for both buyers and sellers and the need for highly qualified services grew in demand worldwide. In 2025 the company changed its name to PARAGON Trading Corporation, reflecting its core mission to advance international trade.
